All maps offered are subject to prior sale. Except for obvious typographical errors, prices listed will be honored for 30 days after your inquiry.

Our Guarantee
All of our maps are guaranteed to be original, published on or near the date given, and in the condition described.

Map Condition
All maps offered by Colin Luther Rare Maps are generally in very good collectable condition. Flaws are as noted. Folds are as issued, unless otherwise noted. We use the following grading method* to state as accurately as possible the condition of a particular map:

(A+) Fine condition. Clean and bright, with crisp engraved lines. On sound paper with wide margins. Any minor restoration has been accomplished professionally.
(A) Very good condition. Clean and bright, with crisp engraved lines. On sound paper with no detracting imperfections in the image. Light age toning in image. Small tears or minor discoloration in the margins only. Any restoration of image has been accomplished professionally.
(B) Good condition. No significant imperfections. Minor spotting, foxing, short separations on centerfold with no image loss, or overall age toning may be present. May have trimmed margins, but paper is still sound.
(C) Fair condition. Noticeable imperfections. Scattered foxing or spotting. Long separations on centerfold or tears entering image, which can be easily repaired.
(D) Poor condition. Needs significant repair and cleaning. Paper may be highly acid and brittle.

Maps Size
Maps listed on our web-site are measured in millimeters (mm). (height x width) All measurements are approximate and within 5mm. Measurements are taken from the neatline (engraved area), not paper size.

Map Colour
"Uncoloured" means the map is without colouring of any sort.
"Original Colour" (Contemporary) means that the map was coloured by hand at the time of publication;
"Old Colour" is early but probably not original;
"Later Colour" (Recent) means the map was coloured any time in the last hundred years;
"Outline Colour" is the colouring of the coastlines, and sometimes borders and boundaries as well.

Framed Maps
Some maps available in the gallery are noted as being framed. The custom framing was chosen to enhance the unique features and high quality of each individual map for superior presentation and enjoyment. These maps are professionally matted and framed to museum standards, using high quality wood frames, UV glass, and Acid-Free Museum Quality Mat Board.

Payment
All prices are quoted in US $Dollars. Use
the XE.com Universal Currency Converter to convert US $Dollars into another currency. We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover Card and American Express. Please order using our secure shopping cart. You may pay by a check in US dollars drawn on a US bank. Maps are held for a 10 day check clearing period before shipping. Connecticut residents please add 6% state sales tax.

Shipping
Colin Luther Rare Maps provides FREE SHIPPING on maps over $200. We ship via Federal Express (FedEx 2Day®), UPS and Parcel Post. We are not responsible for any duties, taxes, or other charges imposed by customs officials of other countries outside the United States.We normally ship maps larger than 16" x 20" wrapped in tissue and placed in cardboard tubes. Maps measuring smaller than 16" x 20" are shipped in flat cardboard containers.

Return Policy
Maps may be returned, in the condition purchased, for any reason within 7 days after receipt. The customer assumes full responsibility for the costs of return shipping and insurance. Please
contact us for instructions prior to returning any item. The full purchase price, less shipping, will be refunded within 10 days of receipt.
